The Fond du lac city council has
approved a development agreement for a proposal to convert the former Rolling
Meadows Nursing home into senior
apartments. The plan calls for 71
apartment units, a pool, activity lounge,
fitness center, parking garage and expanded kitchen. The dining room would overlook the Rolling
Meadows golf course. Community Development Director Wayne
Rollin says the senior housing
concept evolved after an earlier
attempt to convert the building into a hotel-conference center fell
through. The city council voted in favor of a
plan that calls for tax incremental financing for a 10
year period or until payments reach $1 million dollars. The developer says construction could start this summer with the apartments
opening in the summer of 2015.
