A new UW Fond du Lac student housing complex has been given
the green light. The Fond du Lac county board has approved an agreement with the developer and a lease agreement with a firm to operate and manage the facility. Supervisors Zorn and Schumacher cast the only no votes. The 84 bed facility will
be located on the UW Fond du Lac
campus adjacent to the physical education building. UW Fond du Lac Dean John Short says the student housing
concept is a unique public-private partnership where the developer
gets the financing, designs the complex and hires resident assistants
and a live-in manager to operate the facility. Short says a survey showed a need for additional student
housing. The goal is to have the student housing complex open for the
2015 school year.
