The Fond du Lac Planning Commission will hold a public
hearing Monday on a proposed tax increment district for a Holiday Inn
conference center. The city council has approved a developers agreement which
would provide $950,000 toward the conference center pending the creation
of the TID. Community Development Director Wayne Rollin says the additional
taxes generated by the Holiday Inn Express and other property
improvements will allow the city to recover its investment. Rollin says without the TID there
Is no conference center. Opening for the new 16,000 square foot conference center is
planned for early next year and renovation of the existing Holiday Inn would be
completed soon thereafter. The public hearing will be held at 5:30pm Monday at the
city-county government center.
