6-10-14 two vehicle accident on hwy 23 east-driver's identified

Two people received non life threatening injuries in a two vehicle crash on Highway 23 east of Fond du Lac Monday morning.  The accident was reported at 6:40 am on Monday on STH 23 near Hilltop Dr. in the township of  Empire.  The accident occurred when an eastbound vehicle driven by  40 year old Shawn 

Schneider of Oakfield crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by 28 year old  Meriam Schieve of West Salem.  Both drivers were the lone occupants in their vehicles and both needed to be extricated by the City Fire Department.  Also assisting at the scene were the City PD and EMS, along with Eden First Responders.  Both drivers were transported by ambulance to St Agnes hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
