Dodge County District Attorney Kurt Klomberg says it’s the
biggest challenge he’s faced in office….the growing problem of
heroin addiction. Klomberg and Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney
participated in a heroin summit in Waupun Thursday night. The number of heroin overdose deaths has skyrocketed in recent years as law
enforcement tries to get a handle on the problem. Even though law enforcement is making heroin abuse its
number one focus Klomberg says he’s not sure if the problem will worsen
before it gets better. "I've been watching this grow and trying to sound the alarm since 2008," Klomberg said. Toney has been on the job for a year and a half and has
already seen the devastating effects of the drug. "...we see a lot of cases that in some way relate to drug use and addiction issues."
