A landmark downtown Fond du Lac restaurant is closing. Restaurant manager Patty Boyd says The Main Exchange is
closing Saturday after 35 years in business. Boyd and her husband Chuck opened the restaurant on South
Main Street in 1979. "We have had so many great employees and great customers across the years and so many good times," Boyd told WFDL news. "This is a really difficult time for us and it was a difficult decision to make. Boyd says two other establishments they own, the Parrot
Palms nightclub on Hickory Street and Pockets Bar and Grill on South Main are also closing. She says the economy has been a big factor. Fond du Lac Community development director Wayne Rollin says its sad news.
He says The Main Exchange has always been one of his favorite places over the years.
