A Fond du Lac oncologist says a new law designed to lower
the cost of chemotherapy drugs in pill form is a blessing for many
cancer patients. Governor Scott Walker signed the measure that requires
health insurers
to charge the same price for chemo pills, which can be taken
at home, as for intravenous treatments, which are administered
at hospitals. Dr. Lundberg says he has had patients who up until now
simply haven’t been able to afford chemo pills. Lundberg says the pills aren’t necessarily more effective,
but are certainly
more convenient.
