GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Packers fan is crediting pressure from fellow fans in helping get back his stolen ring. Steve Tate, of De Forest, has been a fixture at Packers games since 1998, often wearing his foam cheesehead with "NFL Owner" written on it. Tate's oversized commemorative Super Bowl 45 ring was taken at a fundraiser May 24 near West Bend. He handed it to a fan, but never got it back.
Press-Gazette Media reports a package with the ring arrived in the mail Wednesday. Tate says he believes the ring is his. He says he's unconcerned about why the item was taken and who took it. But he thinks societal pressures helped the person do the right thing. Tate had previously received two offers to replace the ring, which cost him $160.
