It may only be the beginning of spring…but after suffering
through a brutal winter Fond du lac residents are looking forward to
the official kick-off to the summer season…Walleye Weekend. Fond du lac Festivals
Director Leanne Doyle announced Friday that in addition to the rock group, Night Ranger, several new events are planned for this year’s
celebration. Doyle says the Lumberjacks show is coming back courtesy of U.S. Bank. In conjunction with the festival is the Merc National
Walleye fishing tournament…as Mercury Marine celebrates their 75th
anniversary this year. "In honor of their 75th anniversary Mercury is doing an exhibit in the shelter on Oven Island. Project Pink will be here Friday night on the Point stage. They have a 20 foot projection screen and laser light show," Doyle said. "We have stilt-walkers in Familyland for the little kids, and the mad-hatters for kids to make hats." Walleye Weekend runs June 6th, 7th and
8th at Lakeside Park.
