4-3-14 officer involved deaths

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Town of Oregon couple whose son was fatally shot by a police officer in 2012 say a they're still looking for closure, even after legislative progress on a bill that would change how police-involved deaths are investigated.   John and Dorie Heenan watched solemnly Tuesday as the state Senate approved the bill. The Assembly passed it in February.  The measure would require that Wisconsin police departments use outside investigators to look into officer-involved deaths. The Heenans pushed hard for the bill.  Their son, Paul Heenan, was killed 17 months ago. He'd entered a neighbor's home while drunk and struggled with a responding police officer, who fatally shot him.  The Heenans say the bill represents a first step into holding police more accountable, but they still don't have closure.
