The candidates for Dodge County Sheriff are debating a
recently implemented records management system.
Challenger Dale Schmidt says the New World system is cumbersome and creates safety issues, while incumbent
sheriff Pat Ninmann says it’s the best system to support the department's new software platform.
Schmidt raised the issue in a press release…stating that he
is receiving complaints from deputies and dispatch. Schmidt says the department should have looked at more
options. Ninmann says an 18 member selection committee evaluated and
viewed other systems before recommending New World. Ninmann says the new system had to be able to handle the
unique needs of the jail with contract beds and dispatch and says the new system also
has a mapping capability for the mobile data computers in the squad cars. In the end Ninmann says she feels good about the new system
and feels the right choice was made.
