4-2-14 proposed fdl brewpub clears first hurdle

The Fond du Lac Alcohol Licensing Committee is recommending approval of alcohol licenses for a new brewpub on the site of the former Oscar’s tavern.  Dave Koepke and Jacob Walker of Fond du Lac are requesting alcohol licenses to open The Green Dragon Brewpub at the former Oscar’s Sportsman’s Inn on Western Avenue.  Oscar’s has been closed since last fall.  Assistant police chief Steve Klein says the police department supports the request.  The recommendation now goes to the Fond du Lac city council.  Koepke  runs O’Davey’s tavern in Fond du Lac.   Walker has worked at a Berlin tavern and formerly at The Audobon Inn in Mayville.
