City of Mayville voters have
elected Bob Redeker to be their mayor.
Redeker, a current alderman, defeated another current alderman, Rob
Boelk by a vote of 478 to 395. Former
alderman Bob Smith, who was an official write-in candidate, received 89 votes. Redeker says he’s honored, and says " it’s a new day
in Mayville." Redeker says he
wants better and more open communication between city government and Mayville
citizens. Mayville also had
two contested aldermanic races. In Ward
6, Joseph Hohmann defeated Thomas Stollenwerk by a single vote- 41 to 40. And in Ward 4/7/8, Vince Longo mounted a
successful write-in campaign, defeating Sharon Chmielewski 152 to 116.
The City of Juneau has a new
mayor. Voters elected Dan Wegener over
incumbent Mayor Ron Bosak by a vote of 397 to 186. Wegener was a Juneau Utility Comissioner for
25 years, with 16 of those years as Utility President. With the amount of work he put into his
campaign, Wegener says he expected a big win. There was one
contested aldermanic race. By a vote of
72 to 68, Kendra Hayden defeated Robert Affeld for the Ward 2 seat. And the Dodgeland School District
had two contested races. Anthony Cox defeated
Jason Schall for the at-large seat. And
two open seats representing the City of Juneau
and the Town of Oak Grove will be filled by Stacy Schmitt and Troy
Schliesman. Schmitt and Schliesman were
the top two vote-getters from a field of four.
Incumbent Fox Lake
Mayor Tom Bednarek has been elected to a third term. Bednarek defeated current alderman Andrew
Bath by a vote of 155 to 141. Bednarek
says he was relieved to be elected mayor again and he thanked the voters for their
support.
In other contested
races in Dodge County ,
Mary Morgan defeated incumbent Rob Radig 35 to 11 in the Ward 14 aldermanic
race in the City of Beaver Dam . Jim Grigg defeated Craig Muenchow 310 to 98
for a seat on the Horicon School Board.
And Ken Leistico, Brian Miller, and Glenn Hoover will fill three trustee
seats in the Village
of Reeseville .
Two incumbent
Dodge County Board members were re-elected, while a third was defeated in
Tuesday’s election. In all, Dodge County
had five contested board races. In
District 2, incumbent and current Board Chairman Russ Kottke defeated Vicky
Bartoli 107 to 60. In District 4, incumbent
Ed Nelson defetaed Don Burcham 153 to 59.
In District 5, challenger Janice Bobholz defeated incumbent Jeffrey Schmitt
170 to 162. Larry Schraufnagel defeated
Ronald Adelmeyer 128 to 108 for the Distict 16 seat. And Dennis Schmidt defeated Clarence Chase 346
to 212 for the District 24 seat.
