Nobody
was injured in a car fire on the Military Road off ramp to Highway
41 in Fond du Lac Thursday evening. Firefighters were
called to the scene
shortly before 7pm Thursday. Fond
du Lac Fire Chief Peter O’Leary says the occupants of the car
were able to get out safely. "Our first unit got on the scene and said the fire was in the engine compartment. We went to extinguish the fire and apparently the gas line had severed and the gasoline ignitied causing our firefighters some difficulty in getting the fire out," O'leary told WFDL news.
The
town of Fond du Lac Fire Department assisted with a tanker at the scene.
Southbound
41 was closed for about an hour.
