4-16-14 walker launches re-election campaign

DANE, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker says he deserves a second term because he turned Wisconsin around by cutting taxes, making sure everyone in poverty has access to health insurance and improved the economy leading to the creation of 100,000 new jobs.  Walker is making his re-election pitch at a series of rallies across the state on Tuesday — a campaign certain to be the focus of national attention given his expected interest in running for president in 2016.  About 200 people attended the first rally, at a manufacturing company near Madison.  Walker is also proposing a two-year extension to a tuition freeze at the University of Wisconsin.  Walker says: "Wisconsin is back. Wisconsin is on the right track again."  He faces Democrat Mary Burke in the Nov. 4 election.
