A Campbellsport man convicted in a fatal drunken driving
crash that claimed the lives of an Eden couple is going to prison. At a hearing Friday in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court judge Gary Sharpe sentenced 25 year old Daniel Shea to five years in prison followed by ten years of extended supervision
on the first count of homicide by Intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. The judge stayed a five year sentence and ordered 15 years probation on a second count. The judge
ordered that for the 25 years of ES and probation Shea must maintain absolute sobriety and perform 40 hours of Community service annually. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says Shea was drunk when he crossed the center line of Highway 45 near Kewaskum
colliding with a northbound vehicle. An Eden couple was killed in the crash and their teenage
daughter was seriously injured. Following the hearing Shea was immediately remanded to the
custody of the
Sheriff’s office for transport to prison.
