3-4-14 high speed chase

On Monday, March 03, 2014 at 7:24 pm the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was advised of an attempt to locate from Fox Valley Metro Police Dept regarding a reckless driver southbound on Hwy 41 from Winnebago County. Information was also obtained that the driver may have a weapon and had made threats.  At Approximately 730 pm a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper and FDL Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle on Hwy 41 SB near Hwy 23, the driver failed to stop and led deputies/officers on a pursuit southbound on Hwy 41. As deputies tried to deploy stop sticks just north of CTH Y, the vehicle traveled through a turnaround and proceeded NB on Hwy 41. The vehicle exited at CTH B where the driver slammed on his brakes and collided with a FDL County Sheriff’s Squad. The squad rolled over. The driver continued WB on CTH B, then NB on Hwy 175. The vehicle entered the city of Fond du Lac where the FDL Police Dept joined in the pursuit. The vehicle traveled east on CTH VV, then south on CTH V to USH 151 and then south on USH 151.  The vehicle continued SB on USH 151 into Dodge County, where the vehicle turned west onto Oakwood rd, after a few miles the vehicle turned into a driveway off Oakwood Rd. The vehicle traveled around some outbuildings and was struck by a FDL County Sheriff’s Squad, bringing the vehicle to a stop. The suspect, a 37 yr old male from Appleton, was taken into custody without further incident. He was not injured.  Total Distance was 45 miles. The Driver was taken into custody for Eluding an Officer and other charges related to this incident.  The 46 year old Sheriff’s Deputy involved in the crash on CTH B just off Hwy 41 was transported to St Agnes Hospital by FDL Fire Dept Paramedics where he was treated and released.  Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Deputies, Wisconsin State Patrol, City of Fond du Lac Police Dept, Waupun Police Dept, City of Fond du Lac Paramedics, Oakfield FD & First Responders, and Dodge County Sheriff’s office were involved in this incident.
