A baby and toddler have been removed from a town of Burnett home
with what were described as “deplorable”
conditions and the mother faces child neglect charges in Dodge County. Twenty five year old Secoy Koch-Miller is scheduled to make
her initial court appearance next week.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s
Department investigated after a Dodge County Jail inmate told authorities he was
concerned for his
newborn daughter and her two year old stepbrother. According to a criminal complaint home inspectors noticed a
strong odor of animal feces and urine and rotting food, found maggots in
the refrigerator, toilets full of human waste and clutter throughout the home. According to medical
reports the two year old was covered with bug bites, had a bruised eye and his hair was full of spiders and spider
eggs. The toddler weighed only 20 pounds and was black in color because he was
covered in filth. The home is now vacant and town officials have started the
condemnation process.
