Fond du Lac paramedics continue to respond to an increasing
number of people overdosing on heroin. Speaking at a heroin summit this week Assistant
Chief of EMS, Todd Janquart, said the number of overdose victims saved with the heroin antidote Narcan is already on pace to shatter last year’s total of 13.
"In 2013 we had 13 rescues, 13 instances where an individual had demonstrated signs of respiratory distress to the point where they were on that downward slide toward dying," Janquart said. "In 2014, in the first two months we've had seven."
