12-6-13 former brewer jim gantner's deer hunting gun stolen

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of former Milwaukee Brewers star Jim Gantner’s deer hunting shotgun.  According to a sheriff’s complaint Gantner had placed the gun inside its case and set it on top of the pick-up truck cover in the garage.   The next morning Gantner’s wife drove the pick-up, unaware the shotgun was on the covered truck bed and noticed hit flew off the back while traveling south on the Highway 151 Bypass.  She turned around the get the gun, but says a silver SUV stopped and a male passenger got out and picked up the gun.  The SUV then drove off before  Gantner’s wife could get a license plate number.
