10-16-13 new penalties for stealing cable tv
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Republican bill that would increase the penalties for stealing cable television has passed the Wisconsin Assembly. Right now first-time cable theft is a civil violation punishable by up to $500 in forfeitures. The bill would make a first-time theft a misdemeanor punishable by up to $500 in fines and 30 days in jail. The measure now goes to the state Senate.
