10-16-13 assembly approves new interstate speed limit

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A measure to raise the speed limit on Wisconsin interstates from 65 mph to 70 mph has been approved in the state Assembly. The proposal also would require state transportation officials to submit a study on the feasibility of raising the limit to 70 on other four-lane highways to the Legislature within a year. The proposal now goes to the state Senate.
