10-16-13 charges filed against alleged shooter

Charges have been filed against a 19 year old Fond du Lac man accused of firing a  handgun and assault rifle in the city of Fond du lac and village of North Fond du Lac last week.  Mason Paasch faces a felony count of discharging a firearm from a vehicle and nine misdemeanor counts including operating a firearm while intoxicated, carrying a concealed weapon,  two counts of disorderly conduct, resisting an officer and discharging a firearm within 100 yards of a building.    He was released from jail Monday after posting $5000 cash bail and has not yet made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance.  Last Wednesday  night Fond du lac police were called to a report of shots fired  on the city’s southeast side.   Paasch is accused of firing a handgun into the air following fight and fled the scene .     While police were investigating that incident Paasch is accused of firing  an assault rifle into the air in the village of North Fond du Lac after he was confronted by a neighbor.    Nobody was injured in either incident.  Paasch was later arrested at gunpoint.
