The latest Wisconsin Farm Bureau marketbasket survey shows
food prices inching upward this year.
Farm Bureau spokesperson Amy Manske tells AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program the survey shows the total cost of 16 food items was
$50.18…an increase of 58 cents from the third quarter of last year…but only 27 cents higher than the first quarter of this year. Manske says the biggest price swing in the survey was for
russet potatoes. They increased more than 42 percent since March. Manske says there were a handful of food items that saw a
decrease in price including bagged salad, vegetable oil and shredded mild cheddar cheese.
