the Fond du Lac Fire Department was dispatched to smoke coming from industrial
building at 240 West Arndt Street. Firefighters arrived to find flames
and heavy smoke coming from a hydraulic pump house at Sadoff Iron & Metal.
The fire was extinguished, but not before it caused damage to the structure and
hydraulic pump. The fire is believed to have started accidently by
workers that were using a torch to cut a metal chute from a piece of machinery
connected to the building. Alliant was called to the scene to secure the
power. City Police assisted with traffic control.
