A former Waupun police lieutenant accused of burglarizing a Green Lake
restaurant, stealing a car and leading police on a statewide manhunt has pleaded not
guilty. Forty three year old Brad Young pleaded not guilty to burglary and theft during an arraignment hearing in Burnett County Circuit Court this week. Young also faces charges in Barron
and Green Lake County. Young has yet to make an initial court appearance in Green Lake County where he faces charges of burglary, possession of burglary
tools, car theftt, criminal damage to property and obstructing an officer. He is accused of burglarizing Walkers Kohlerville restaurant, fleeing the scene when police
arrived and later stealing a pickup truck. According to
the criminal complaint, Young also admitted to breaking into grocery stores in Berlin, Markesan and Fond du Lac as well as a Green
Lake restaurant.
