For our second severe weather season
Fond du Lac County Emergency Management will have NOAA, All Hazards Weather
Alert Radios, available to the public for $28.00 incl. tax. These Midland, NOAA weather radios will
immediately broadcast emergency information notifications directly from the
National Weather Service for any severe weather or emergency event. Weather may be monitored 24 hours a day.. NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) All Hazards
Alert is a nationwide program broadcasting continuous weather and other
emergency information directly from the nearest National Weather Service office. A NOAA weather radio is an essential tool to
keep residents safe during severe weather or other emergencies. “All Hazards" messages
include: Natural Events (e.g., tornado,
flooding, high winds, blizzards, etc.), Accidents (e.g., chemical release,
train derailments, nuclear power emergencies), evacuation information, Amber
Alerts, Terrorist attacks and other emergency information. During an emergency, seconds count! These radios are a valuable alerting device, that
are simple to use, and can be used to check on “every day weather”, including
wind chill information during the winter. Radios are available at the Fond du
Lac County Clerk’s Office on the 1st. floor lobby of the Fond du Lac
County/City Government Center at 160 Macy Street in Fond du Lac.
