5-9-14 noaa weather radios

For our second severe weather season Fond du Lac County Emergency Management will have NOAA, All Hazards Weather Alert Radios, available to the public for $28.00 incl. tax.  These Midland, NOAA weather radios will immediately broadcast emergency information notifications directly from the National Weather Service for any severe weather or emergency event.  Weather may be monitored 24 hours a day..   NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) All Hazards Alert is a nationwide program broadcasting continuous weather and other emergency information directly from the nearest National Weather Service office.  A NOAA weather radio is an essential tool to keep residents safe during severe weather or other emergencies.   “All Hazards" messages include:  Natural Events (e.g., tornado, flooding, high winds, blizzards, etc.), Accidents (e.g., chemical release, train derailments, nuclear power emergencies), evacuation information, Amber Alerts, Terrorist attacks and other emergency information.   During an emergency, seconds count!  These radios are a valuable alerting device, that are simple to use, and can be used to check on “every day weather”, including wind chill information during the winter.  Radios are available at the Fond du Lac County Clerk’s Office on the 1st. floor lobby of the Fond du Lac County/City Government Center at 160 Macy Street in Fond du Lac.
