Three damaged homes in Fond du
Lac have or will be demolished in the coming weeks. The fire-damaged home at 65 North
Hickory Street was purchased by the Redevelopment Authority and torn down last week. Police say a Fond du Lac man set fire to the
house last fall before he was involved in a
shootout with police. The fire damaged home at 261 Third Street is
being donated to the RDA, which will demolish the home and
donate the lot to Habitat for Humanity.
That was the home of former Fond du Lac
city councilmember, Dan Manning. A home at 254 Oak Street which
was damaged in the 2008 flood has been foreclosed by a local bank. The bank will demolish the
home and sell the lot to the RDA.
