4-7-14 fdl bulky waste site hours

Effective Tuesday April 2, the City of Fond du Lac DPW put in effect the Summer operating hours for the Bulky Waste Drop Off site, located at the Municipal Service Center, 530 Doty St.

 Hours of Operation:
 Summer Hours (April 1 – November 30)
    1. Monday           9:00 to 3:15
    2. Tuesday           Closed
    3. Wednesday      10:00 to 6:00
    4. Thursday          9:00 to 3:15                 
    5. Friday              9:00 to 3:15
    6. Saturday           8:00 to Noon
 Fee Structure:
 There is a charge $20 for a single use of the site.
  1. We offer a ten use pass, or punch card, which is transferrable, for $150.
  2. We charge a fee of $400 annually for unlimited visits to the site. The pass sticker for this level is not transferrable between vehicles.
  3. Fees of $25 for Freon items, $15 for microwaves and tire fees are still in effect and will be charged in addition to single use fees.
  4. Cash and checks are accepted at the site using an envelope system similar to that at the city’s boat launch facilities.
  5. The ability to accept credit and debit cards is under consideration.
  6. Single use passes and punch cards are available at the City Clerk’s office and the Municipal Service Center.
  7. Season passes are only available at the Municipal Service Center.
  8. Non-profits and institutional customers are allowed to purchase annual pass stickers.
  9. Contractors are not eligible to use the site.
  10. We make every effort to have the site available to annual pass customers during non-operation hours by prior appointment.
  11. Construction debris is not accepted at the site.
  12. Single use and ten use passes require proof of residency. Annual passes require proof of residency or property ownership in the city.
  13. Only metal items for recycling may be dropped off for free. Cardboard and paper for recycling require a daily fee.
  14.  Attendant:
 The site has an attendant on duty all hours for which the facility of open for business.
 End of $5 curb side bulky waste collection:
 The city no longer collects bulky waste at the curb using the $5 sticker system.
  1. The cost for bulky collection at the curb begins at $40 minimum and anything over one cubic yard will be charged an additional $40 per yard. This is in addition to any fees for Freon items, microwaves or tires.

No changes have been made with respect to materials dropped off at either site.
