A Fond du Lac police officer involved in a collision with
another squad car last fall was disciplined for two other on duty
crashes within the period of about a year . Officer Melissa Sprangers was suspended 20
days
following last November’s crash at Western Avenue and Linden Street that totaled both squad cars and sent Sprangers and
another officer to the hospital. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein tells WFDL news Sprangers received a
written warning for inattentive driving after she hit a parked car
in November of 2012,
and a one day unpaid suspension for driving too fast for
conditions in March of last year when her squad slid through an intersection and was
struck by another vehicle that had the right of way.
