Residents in all 72 Wisconsin
counties will get a chance to vote on outdoor-related issues at
local meetings this week. The annual meeting of the
Wisconsin Conservation Congress will be held Monday at 7 p.m. In Fond du lac the hearing
will be held at Theisen Middle School. DNR Wildlife supervisor, Jeff
Pritzl says participants will elect county delegates and answer a
questionnaire seeking their
opinion on a number of proposals and issues. Among the big issues is a
question gauging support for making trolling with one line legal statewide, expanding trout
fishing season and consolidating turkey, pheasant, duck, trout and salmon stamps into one
stamp. Pritzl says attendees also will
get an update on Department of Natural
Resources' deer
management changes. The Conservation Congress
uses the questionnaire to advise the DNR on policy changes.
