The Dodge
County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to use caution when conducting controlled burns. Sheriff Pat Ninmann says over the past two
days the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received over
18 fire calls with the majority of them
starting as a controlled burn. Ninmann says
the fires resulted in out buildings catching on fire and causing severe damage and placing undue risk to the numerous fire
department that were called to respond. Thursday a fire
at the Horicon Marsh burned 110 acres. Ninmann says the
Sheriff’s Office is urging the citizens
to think twice before having a controlled burn. She says the
dry and windy conditions make for a
potentially dangerous situation.
