4-12-14 brandon grass fire

A large wildfire that burned several hundred acres in western Fond du Lac County was brought under control Friday afternoon.  The fire near Brandon burned up to 300 acres of marsh land.  No buildings were damaged and no injuries were reported.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Mark Strand tells WFDL news the fire started Friday by someone burning brush that quickly spread out of control.
"He was burning on his property and it got out of hand.  He called right away.  He dialed 911 and said its out of control,"  Strand said.  Strand says the fire shows how dangerous wildfire conditions are and how quickly a fire can spread.
