2-7-14 train versus truck-dodge county

Two people were fortunate to escape serious injuries when their pickup truck collided with a train.  Dodge County Sheriff Pat Ninmann says it happened near Waupun at the railroad crossing on Oakwood Road just west of County Trunk I..  "He tried to slow, he took some evasive action by turning north and his vehicle went into a counter-clockwise spin, Ninmann told AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program.  "The truck went into the north ditch and the right side of the pickup truck struck the right side of the first engine of the train."  Ninmann says truck became entangled in the engine and was dragged south across Oakwood Road before it was thrown away from the train engine and landing in the south ditch.  Ninmann says miraculously the driver and his 15 year old passenger, from Dalton, escaped serious injury.
