The public is invited to attend an informational meeting
this month on proposed revisions to the Fond du lac zoning code and zoning
map. Planner JoEllyn Dahlin says the proposed changes are part of
the recodification of the municipal code that has been ongoing
for the last couple of years. "Specific development regulations are not changing," Dahlin told WFDL news. "The proposed zoning code is really streamlining exissting regulations, making it more user friendly, a better enforcement tool. Dahlin says proposed changes address provisions that are out
of date or obsolete, remove inconsistencies and or conflicts between sections of
the code and incorporate changes in state law. "One of the major changes is to redo the zoning districts. Right now we have 20 zoning districts in the city plus four overlay districts," Dahlin said. "With the proposed changes we're looking at reducing the 20 districts down to 12." Dahlin says that will be done by consolidating duplicate districts. Dahlin says the proposed revisions would reduce the number
of residential districts from seven to four. The information meeting is scheduled for Monday February 17th
from 3:30pm to 5:30 pm in meeting room B at the city-county
government center.
