The Wisconsin Farm Bureau is praising passage of the farm
bill. Farm Bureau
government relations director Karen Gefvert says under the new bill a program that pays dairy farmers
when milk falls below a certain price would be phased out and
replaced with a voluntary insurance
program. Gefvert says its designed as a safety net to stabilize prices. Wisconsin senator Tammy Baldwin voted in favor, Republican
senator
Ron Johnson voted against.
