2-11-14 fdl man charged with possession of child porn

On Monday, February 10, 2014, a criminal complaint was filed against Jhonantan Tamariz, of 55 4th Street in Fond du Lac, charging him with 14 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography, a felony.  A preliminary hearing  is scheduled for February 20, 2014, at 1:30 pm in Fond du Lac County.   According to the Criminal Complaint, on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, special agents with the Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), with assistance from officers with the Fond du Lac Police Department, executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence, located at 55 4^th Street, Apartment 1, in Fond du Lac.  An on-scene forensic preview by a DCI analyst of a Sony laptop computer and an external hard drive belonging to the defendant uncovered files consistent with child pornography, according to the complaint.  In an interview with agents, Tamariz stated he knew agents would find child pornography on his computer, and that he began downloading child pornography about two years ago.
