A former Milwaukee County Sheriff’s sergeant accused of sexually assaulting young girls he was videotaping at a Fond du
lac County campsite was back in court Thursday.
Philip Wentzel appeared in Fond du lac court Thursday for a plea hearing on eight counts of first degree sexual assault
of a child and four counts of second degree sexual assault of a child. According to a criminal complaint videos obtained from Wentzel show him performing sexual acts on girls ages seven, 14 and
15 and that the girls appeared to be drugged. The incidents allegedly occurred in May of 2010 at a campsite near Long Lake in southeast
Fond du lac County. Fond du lac County Sheriff’s lieutenant Cameron McGee says
Wentzel shared the photos through an Internet peer to peer file
sharing network. Wentzel is currently serving a 40 year
prison sentence in Indiana for possession of child pornography. His next Fond du lac Court appearance Is a plea and sentencing hearing scheduled for September 11th.
