8-9-13 dodge county sheriff says mayville would retain officers under proposal

The Dodge County Sheriff says Mayville city officials contacted her about the possibility of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department taking over responsibility for police coverage in Mayville.
The Mayville city council has scheduled a special meeting for Monday to discuss the idea.  Ninmann  says Mayville wouldn’t lose any officers if the Sheriff’s Department would take over.  "There's been no final decisions.  Back in July some of the city council had approached me about if it would even be feasible for the Sheriff's Department to provide law enforcement for the city of Mayville,"  Ninmann told AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program.  "If the city of Mayville would choose to go that direction we would take the six officers that they currently have on staff, they would become deputies.  But their primary patrol duties would be in the city of Mayville."
