The Waupun deputy police chief says he is relieved that an
officer wanted for burglary and auto theft is in custody and that
nobody was hurt. Lieutenant
Brad Young was arrested Tuesday in northwest Wisconsin. Young was
the subject of a police manhunt after he allegedly burglarized a Green Lake restaurant and stole two vehicles. Waupun deputy police chief Scott Louden says Young is on
administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation. Following the initial shock and disbelief, Louden says the
ordeal is starting to sink in. "It was a relief to me and to our whole organization that Brad Young was able to meet with authorities and they were able to bring him in safely,' Louden told AM 1170 WFDL's Between the Lines program. State Department of Justice spokeswoman Dana Brueck says the
investigation into Young's actions is ongoing.
Louden says state investigators will also look into whether Young can be tied to any other burglaries in the Green Lake
County area.
