8-7-13 fdl man charged with arson

A Fond du Lac man has been charged with setting a fire that significantly damaged a Fond du Lac home last week.  Thirty three year old Timothy Schneider is charged with arson of a building and burglary.  He is accused of using gasoline to start the fire at 352 Third Street.  According to a criminal complaint Schneider intentionally set the fire at his mom's home after she had earlier kicked him out of the house.   Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 4pm last Friday.  Schneider made his initial Fond du lac court appearance Wednesday.  Judge Gary Sharpe set bail at $50,000 cash.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 16^th.
